S&C Advanced Reporting Setup
S&C Advanced Reporting provides views of Sales and Catering (S&C) data that can be used for analysis, planning, and forecasting in the OPERA Business Intelligence (OBI) user-interface. The S&C data is accessed directly from OPERA tables by using real-time online transactional processing (OLTP) and does not require data cubes as in typical OBI online analytical processing (OLAP). OLTP may require longer processing time.
S&C Advanced Reporting can be accessed when the Sales and Catering (OPS_<version number> or OPC_<version number>) license is active with the optional Sales Force Automation (OPF_<version number>) license, with these two possible configurations:
- OBIEE (OPB_<version number> Opera Business Intelligence multiple property license is active (no additional add-on license is necessary), or
- Without OBIEE, but with the Sales and Catering Advanced Reporting add-on license OPS_SAREP S&C <version number> and ORO_<version number> Oracle BI SE-one User Interface license for S&C Advanced Reporting views.
Setup for S&C Advanced Reporting with OBIEE License
In this configuration, users have access to both BI Cube Subject Areas and S&C Advanced Reporting Subject Areas.
- Ensure that the Sales and Catering application is installed and active.
- Set up OBIEE as you typically would (see OBI Setup, Edit Users).
- In the Edit Users screen, a user with the permission DATAMART>Manage BI Access can set up access for other users for property levels and subject areas by selecting BI Options>Access Level, Access Permissions, and BI Groups.
- In BI Groups, select the user's permissions to access OBI and S&C subject area groups. See OBI User Access.
- In this configuration, the S&C Advanced Reporting (S&C Adv. Reporting) button automatically displays on the OPERA Single Sign-on screen. The OBI button will also appear when the OBI check box is selected on the Application Access User Details screen.
- In Sales and Catering, users can also access S&C Advanced Reporting from the menu option Miscellaneous>S&C Adv. Reporting if they have been assigned as least one S&C subject area permission.
Application Settings
Additional Application Settings are available in OBIEE pertaining only to S&C Advanced Reporting:
- OBI COMPANY RELATIONSHIP TOP LEVELS - Defines the number of levels from the top of the relationship hierarchy to be included in S&C Advanced Reports. This currently applies only to S&C Advanced Reporting.
- OBI COMPANY RELATIONSHIP TYPE - Defines the company relationship type (top down) used for the relationship-based company dimension for S&C Advanced Reports. This currently applies only to S&C Advanced Reporting.
Setup for S&C Advanced Reporting with OPS_SAREP S&C Add-on License (without OBIEE License)
In this configuration, S&C Advanced Reporting users do not have access to BI Cube subject areas, only to S&C Advanced Reporting subject areas.
- Ensure that the Sales and Catering application is installed and active.
- Install the ORO_<version number> Oracle BI SE-one User Interface license for S&C Advanced Reporting views. (This BI interface does not have the functionality of Alerts, Microsoft Plug-ins, or Scheduling.)

- A URL link needs to be set up that directs the user from the S&C Advanced Reporting button on the OPERA Single Sign-on screen to the appropriate schema where the Oracle BI SE-one User Interface license for S&C Advanced Reporting application resides. Access the application setting to direct the system to the BI application through OBI>Global>Settings>OBI UI URL. Enter the path of the URL in this format: http://<AppServerName>/Operajserv/analytics/saw.dll?Dashboard
- The application parameter OBI>Property>BI Enabled when set to Y, provides the selected property access to the BI tables. (This parameter must be set to Y for every BI property in a single and multiple-property environment.)
- When the add-on license is activated, the application setting OBI>Parameter>USE BI GROUPS FOR OLTP is available.
- Activate this parameter (Y) if you want to select individual users on the Configuration User Details screen who will have access to S&C Advanced Reporting.
- Do not activate this parameter (N) if you want all users to automatically have access to S&C Advanced Reporting.
- When the USE BI GROUPS FOR OLTP parameter is active, the BI Options button displays on the Edit User Details screen where users with the permission DATAMART>Manage BI Access can set up permissions for other users to access property levels and subject areas. Select BI Options>Access Level, Access Permissions, and BI Groups.
- In BI Options>BI Groups, select the permission for this user to access S&C subject areas. See OBI User Access.

Setup for Synchronizing New Profile and Relationship Tables
Reservation_stat_daily
Summary tables have been developed for yearly, monthly, and daily calculations that improve processing time when creating reports in S&C Advanced Reporting and OPERA. The tables are populated based on reservation_stat_daily and include:
- company_stat_ daily
- agent_stat_daily
- source_stat_daily
- contact_stat_daily
- profile_monthly_statistics
- profile_yearly_statistics
With an upgrade from an earlier version to OPERA v5.0.04.00, these tables need to be initially populated in each property using the Synchronize Summary Profile Statistics Utility (Utilities>Synchronize Summary Profile Statistics Utility permission required. In property, the tables will be updated from reservation_stat_daily during the Night Audit. In SFA, it is necessary to configure the transfer of reservation_stat_daily from the interfaced properties and the child tables will populate only when the application parameter General>Populate Reservation Statistics Tables is set to Y.
Profile_relationship_hier
Another new table, profile_relationship_hier, maintains the accounts' hierarchy up to 10 levels. This table must also be populated after upgrading to OPERA v5.0.04.00 with the Synchronize Relationship Hierarchy Utility (Utilities>Synchronize Relationship Hierarchy permission required).
Transferring Datamart reservation_stat_daily from Property to SFA
If the account statistic report will be run from SFA for an interfaced property, the reservation_stat_daily table must be transferred via OXI and the application parameter General>Populate Reservation Statistics Tables must be set to Y. See Configuring the Transfer of Data Mart reservation_stat_daily from Property to SFA.
