Catering Package/Template Setup Overview

This feature is available in:

• S&C (OPS/OPC <version number> OPERA Sales and Catering active license) when the following application settings are active: application function Catering > Event Resources, application function Catering > Event Packages, and application function Catering > Event Templates. Select Configuration > Catering > Catering Packages/Templates > Packages and Templates Setup to access the Catering Packages/Templates Setup screen. This screen is also available in View-only mode by selecting Business Management > Resource Lookup > Catering Packages/Templates > Package and Template Setup.
• PMS (OPP <version number> OPERA PMS active license) with an active S&C license (OPS/OPC <version number> OPERA Sales and Catering) at the property, when the following application settings are active: application parameter Blocks > Show Events and Resource Lookup in PMS, application function Catering > Event Resources, application function Catering > Event Packages, and application function Catering > Event Templates. Access the Catering Packages/Templates > Package and Setup from the PMS main menu by selecting the drop-down menu (not available through icon or button) Reservations > Blocks > Resource Lookup > Catering Packages/Templates > Package and Template Setup. The Catering Package/Template Setup VIEW ONLY screen appears.

The Catering packages/Templates Setup screen is the starting point for setting up catering packages and catering templates. Both catering packages and catering templates can be assigned to events. Packages and templates make it easier for you to set up events because many of the resource items and food and beverage choices are usually part of the package or template. This saves you the work of selecting resources for the event.

Templates and packages are alike, except that prices are not pre-assigned to catering templates. For this reason, templates are useful, for example, when you want to use custom pricing, or when the number of attendees is uncertain.

• The Catering Packages/Templates screen can display packages, templates, or both packages and templates, depending on your choice of option button.
• Package Set Up.
• Template Set Up.
• Package Pricing. From the Catering Package/Template Setup screen select the Pricing button. The Pricing button is available only when the Packages option button is selected, because pricing is not pre-set for templates.  Once a package has been built, you can attach multiple prices based on:
• Sell dates
• Book dates
• Market segment
• Booking type
• Number of attendees
