Your Choice Housekeeping
The feature Your Choice Housekeeping allows guests to decline (opt out of) housekeeping services. The frequency for a mandatory cleaning day can be defined that the guest cannot opt out of. The following application settings must be active for the Your Choice Housekeeping feature to be available:
- ROOMS MANAGEMENT > FACILITY MANAGEMENT application function.
- ROOMS MANAGEMENT > TASK ASSIGNMENT application function.
- ROOMS MANAGEMENT > YOUR_CHOICE_HOUSEKEEPING application parameter.
Select Setup > Configuration > Rooms Management > Your Choice Housekeeping. On the Your Choice Housekeeping screen, define the associated attributes required for Your Choice Housekeeping:
Special. Select a code to activate this functionality on a reservation
Task Codes. Select task codes to be used on the mandatory cleaning day.
Every. The frequency of the mandatory cleaning day.
For example, selecting Special J8, Task Codes LC, and Every 4 causes every reservation that has attached Special J8 to schedule task code LC every 4th day of the guest’s stay.
These rules apply to the Your Choice Housekeeping functionality:
- The day that the mandatory task falls on is calculated based upon the arrival date of the reservation. In a staggered shares scenario, the day is calculated based on the arrival date of the first arriving share reservation.
- When a share is broken, all reservations are updated as needed. Those with the special code on the reservation will have the task scheduled based on their arrival date. Those that do not have the special code attached will be updated with the task schedule based upon the room type configuration and the arrival date.
- A room move does not affect the task schedule of the mandatory service day.
- If the special code (J8) is added to a reservation at any point during the stay, the task schedule is updated based on the arrival date, and the mandatory task frequency setting is added to the reservation. Past days are not updated on the Facility Scheduler.
- Only reservations with a minimum 2 night stay are eligible.
- As rooms that are opted in do not show on the attendant’s task sheets on the days no task is scheduled, these rooms show on the NSR (No Service Required) task sheet when the ROOMS MANAGEMENT > ADDITIONAL TASK ASSIGNMENTS application setting has NSR configured.
- For reservations that do not have the configured special code (J8) attached, the Opt Out column still shows on the Facility Tasks screen, however, the fields are disabled.
- When the Special Code (J8) is removed during the reservation, the facility schedule is updated depending on the Room Type facility task configuration and all previous customization is lost.
- For PM reservations for a Block, if the PM reservation has the Your Choice Housekeeping Special (J8) attached, then the reservations made from that PM will also have the Special Code attached. However, if the PM is customized beyond the Your Choice Housekeeping schedule, then reservations made from that PM will not have that specific customization, only the Your Choice Housekeeping customization.
