Conversion Codes Detailed for Holidex
These sub-topics are specific to Holidex and Conversion Code setup:
Rate Synchronization for OXI Conversion
Holidex CRS will have the functionality of sending Rates to the OPERA property. Called Rate Refresh in Holidex, this function will allow Hotel property to have their rates updated at any time. The resync of rates relies on conversion.
Functionality
- For the Rate Sync to work the conversion code table RATE CODE must be active in OXI.
- Hotel has the option to have the existing rate code setup work with the resync. Or Hotel has the option to remove any existing rate code conversion and have the resync populate the conversion table and insert rate codes directly to Rate Code configuration in OPERA.
- For hotels existing conversion to work, Holidex’s Rate Categories mapped to OPERA rates will need to be the Holidex Plus values.(i.e. RACK = IRRCK)
- During the resync if conversion is not found OXI will populate the conversion table with the new Rate Category and insert the rate as new into OPERA.
- If conversion is found then the Rate Category will update the existing rates in OPERA PMS.
- When Rate Sync is complete, updated or new rates will then need to be maintained in Holidex CRS. As the rate will be flagged as External Locked and uneditable by OPERA PMS user.
- The market code will be taken from the 2nd letter of the Rate Category. Ie IGCOR – the 2nd letter is G and will be used for the market code.
- These values will be added to the Long Info on the Rate Code Header in PMS:
- Check In time
- Check Out time
- Allowed Check In days for booking will be: ( MON, TUE, WED, THU, FRI and SAT)
- Minimum and Maximum Length of Stay will be populated here. Rate Header default for Min Stay Through and Max Stay Through will not be populated. Min Stay Through will be default populated with 1.
- Minimum Advance Booking and Maximum Advance Booking will be in Long Info
- Reservation Guarantee required will be listed as: (GUARANTEE ONLY)
- Number of Days Advance Deposit Due will be here. If value is If value is zero, display: (DEP REQ NN PYMT DUE AT BOOKING)
- Deposit Amount Due
- Number of Days Cancellation Due before Arrival
- Cancellation Penalty

- When a rate category is Deactivated in the Holidex CRS the message sent to the PMS will set the End Sell date on Rate Header to date of current business date.
- If the rate has no active reservations booked against it it will be permanently deleted from OPERA
- Any existing reservations attached to this rate code will allowed to keep this rate. The rate and rate details will be left visible in OPERA’s rate configuration
- New reservations will not be permitted, as the Rate will no longer be available in the Rate Query screen when you try to book.
- When the rate category is Deactivated from Holidex, OXI will also remove the conversion from OXI table Rate Codes
- If only a Rate Code in Holidex is updated but affects multiple Rate Categories, each Rate Category will be sent to the OPERA PMS.
Special Codes – HOLIDEX only

- Trace Text can also be added in the same combination of room type/rate code and special request codes. All traces will be created under the selected trace department.
- The special codes will be inserted into the Specials field on the reservation main screen in OPERA.
- This is a user maintainable utility and the rate codes and room types can be updated at any time
