Rate More Tab
Select the More tab on the Rate Setup screen to configure additional features associated with the rate code. For rate codes that are Externally Controlled, the fields on this tab are view-only.
The available features include:
- Base Rates - When the RATES > BASE RATES application function is set to Y, a "dependent" rate code can be derived from another rate code, which is called the base rate. See Base Rate for details. (This feature is available for both PMS and ORS.)
- BAR Based Rates - When the following application settings have been activated, you can use a BAR Based Rate to calculate another rate code by using the features on the More tab of the Rate Code Setup screen: RATES > BEST AVAILABLE RATES application function and RATES > BEST AVAILABLE RATE TYPE > BEST BAR BY DAY application setting. See BAR Base Rate for details. Best BAR by Day, also referred to as Best BAR rates are the lowest rates available for a room type. You may need to add or subtract an additional amount to the Best BAR rate, based on another rate code via this BAR Based functionality. (This feature is available for both PMS and ORS.)
- Dynamic BAR Based Rates - When the OPR<version number>ORS license code is active and the Dynamic Best Available Rate (DBAR) application function is set to Y, you can set up and apply rates dependent upon DBAR base rates within the More tab. See Dynamic BAR Based Rates for details.
- Dynamic Base Rates - Available with both PMS and ORS when the RATES > DYNAMIC BASE RATES application function is set to Y. The Dynamic Base Rate functionality dynamically calculates and displays dependent rate codes during the availability search. When this functionality is used with both regular, static rates and the Compare with Rate Detail check box is selected on the Rate More Tab, the lowest rate per day for either regular static rate or dynamic based rate amount will be calculated and displayed during availability search. See Dynamic Base Rates for details.
- Advanced Dynamic Base Rates - Available with both PMS and ORS when the RATES > ADVANCED DYNAMIC BASE RATES application function is set to Y. The Advanced Dynamic Base Rate functionality dynamically calculates and displays dependent rate codes during the availability search. The property can set up Advanced Dynamic Base Rate rate codes based on other rate codes (e.g., Daily Rate rate codes) such that the associated rates are dynamically calculated while checking availability, as with Dynamic Base Rates. Moreover, with Advanced Dynamic Base Rates, base rate calculations (flat or percentage, positive or negative) can be set on the Rate Details level for specific room types by seasons or date ranges. See Advanced Dynamic Base Rates for details.
- Routing Instructions - When the CASHIERING > ROUTING application function is set to Y, you can attach routing instructions to the rate code. The routing instructions are themselves associated with a profile type so that if that profile type is attached to a reservation, you are prompted to attach the routing instructions to the reservation. See Routing Instructions and Profile Type for details. (ORS also has routing instructions functionality, refer to ORS Routing Instructions.)
- Posting Rhythm - This functionality is designed for promotions needing to define on the rate code level a way to offer a free night based on the length of stay; it also provides a way to define which night will be offered as the free night. See Posting Rhythm for details.
- Rate Floor - When the RATES > RATE FLOOR application parameter is set to Y, the Rate Floor field appears on the Rate Setup screen More tab. You can use this field to set a minimum rate amount for rate details associated with this rate code. See Rate Floor for details.
- Mandated Reservation Profiles. This functionality allows the selection of profile types which must be associated with the reservation in order to use the rate code. See Mandated Reservation Profiles for details.
- Advanced Dynamic Rates. This functionality allows the conversion of a Base rate into an Advanced Dynamic rate, which can be calculated using a flat amount or a percentage of the Base rate amount. You also have the option of including the BAR Base rate in the rate calculation. See Advanced Dynamic Rate for details.
Note: When a rate code is based on another rate code (e.g., a Base Rate rate code, a Dynamic Base Rate rate code, or an Advanced Dynamic Base Rate rate code), OPERA prevents the resulting rate amount from being a negative. For example, assume that the rate amount for rate code RACK is 0.00 for room type PM, and Base Rate rate code AAA is -10 flat off of the RACK rate. The AAA rate for the PM room type will be 0.00, not -10.00.
